Return home interviews

Are you fulfilling your statutory obligation to complete Return Home Interviews 72 hours when a young person goes missing in your care?

Reconstruct offers independent social care consultants to come meet with your young person at their home or preferred safe space, to provide them the opportunity to talk through their missing episode.

 How it works: 

  • One of our independent social care consultants will meet with your young person at their home or preferred safe space, in order to provide them the opportunity to talk through their missing episode.
  • This will take place within the statutory 72-hour timescale and will be conducted in a child-friendly manner.
  • Our consultants will share any safeguarding concerns with the young person’s appointed guardian, or other authority if required.

Regulation 44 and Independent person visits

This service is delivered by expert social care consultants and consists of high-quality Regulation 44 visits to Children’s homes comprising of monthly regulatory Independent Monitoring Visits and Emergency or Cover Visits.

How it works: 

  • Monthly regulatory visits are conducted by our team of Regulation 44 consultants and auditors who are experts in their field
  • Reconstruct Regulation 44 Visitors provide both scrutiny and support for the homes they are assigned to. Their overall purpose is to analyse care practice and leadership and verify if young people are safeguarded and their wellbeing promoted in the home.
  • Reports produced for the home, placing authorities and the Regulator are balanced, and are provided within the required timescales.

Leadership training for aspiring managers

This is both a training and mentoring offer and a combined training, mentoring and recruitment offer for aspiring children’s homes managers. 

How it works: 

  • This course can be delivered to care staff from senior level upwards, or who have been in positions from senior level upwards. 
  • The course can be undertaken whilst working in the care role, or as a standalone course, alongside or independent of the recruitment package.
  • The course curriculum will prepare aspiring managers for the role, providing a combination of knowledge-based training, practical guidance and support and supervision/mentoring.
  • Curriculum content meets industry standard requirements but can also be bespoke to meet the specific needs of the individual and/or homes/organisation.
